Type 1 diabetes is deemed to be the initial stage of diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune ailment.

The earlier common name of Type 1 diabetes was ‘juvenile diabetes’.

‘Type 1 diabetes‘ afflicts 0.4% of people on the average.

HOW TYPE 1 CAN BE DIABETES CURED…

Type 1 diabetes can be resolved with a change in the dietary conditions.

However, the patient suffering from type 1 diabetes must have the will power and the determination not to resort to the earlier unhygienic eating habits.

WHO CONTRACTS TYPE-1 DIABETES?

The people likely to be affected by Type 1 diabetes are kids, young people and pregnant women.

HOW DOES TYPE 1 DIABETES OCCUR?

Type 1 diabetes is the fallout of non-functioning or mal-functioning of certain important cell called the beta cells. The beta cells get damaged due to the strong activities of other cells in the human body.

Medical researches have shown that the bodies of people suffering from Type 1 diabetes suffer from high glucose (‘sugar’ in common parlance) content in their blood stream.

This excess content of glucose or sugar gets reflected in the urine.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN TYPE 1 DIABETES SETS IN?

After patient contracts type-1 diabetes, the person’s body fails to carry out the necessary activities (metabolism).

This happens as the body cannot function without the necessary ingredient – glucose – that induces heat.

Glucose is produced from the food that we eat. Insulin is the agent that helps to extract glucose (sugar) from the consumed food.

Insulin also brings out glucose from starches and other food.

Insulin is a hormone. Insulin is produced by the pancreas located in the abdominal area.

When the pancreas does not function, the insulin production is halted. As a result, the body fails to act on the starch, sugar, and other food that are the sources of sugar or glucose.

However, the person concerned keeps on having the same old meal. The body keeps on getting constant supply glucose. The excess glucose gets deposited in various parts of the body.

This is the typical situation when type 1 diabetes takes root.

In the initial stages, such a type 1 diabetes situation can be easily tackled.

Diabetes is a silent killer. Diabetes or what is medically known as diabetes mellitus happens due to the modern lifestyle. Some of the prominent causes of diabetes are lack of exercise, consumption of adulterated and unhygienic food, junk or fast food.

The most important thing about our bodies is that it is a well-oiled machine with in-built mechanism to combat all the types of attackers (read germs).

But, we ourselves are to blame if we disable the mechanism that activates the anti-germ army.

And, we ourselves are to blame if we stop the very process (metabolism) that gives birth and training to the sentinels (read enzymes, white blood corpuscles, sugar or insulin among others).

Then, what is metabolism?

DIABETES LINKED TO METABOLISM…

Metabolism breaks up the food into proteins, fats, and vitamins, and of course the waste products besides water that we eliminate as urine, sweat or stool.

Metabolism needs heat generated by the hormone insulin that is produced by the pancreas.

When pancreas fails to function diabetes strikes; metabolism fails; and the other important organs like the kidneys and the heart also fail to work properly.

The typical symptoms of diabetes are:

Frequent urination

Irritation at various portions of the body

Dry mouth

Breathlessness

And General weakness.

These symptoms can lead to loss of eyesight, pressure problems and even heart ailments.

These symptoms do not occur in a day. They remain hidden. That is primarily the reason why many diabetics fail to know of the ailment creating havoc within their bodies.

And, by the time the person seeks medical advice, diabetes already takes deep roots and many organs fail to function.

To know of the typical symptoms associated with diabetes, it is important to know what exactly diabetes is.

DIABETES DECLARED ‘EPIDEMIC’ IN AMERICA

The number of diabetics is increasing at an alarming rate across the globe. Citizens of most of the developed countries as well as the developing countries are vulnerable to this ailment commonly termed as a rich man’s disease.

The reason for this nomenclature is that diabetes is caused due to the wrong eating habits or even over-eating — habits that are identified with people having money.

In other words, people who do not eat as much rarely suffers from diabetes while they suffer from the diseases associated with malnutrition.

Annually, hundreds of Americans are falling prey to diabetics. Already, there are more than 23 million diabetics in USA alone. Moreover, this disease known clinically as ‘diabetes mellitus‘ is spreading so fast across the country that the American health department has termed it as an ‘epidemic’.
