Another clinical nomenclature for Juvenile diabetes is Type 1 diabetes.

Therefore the symptoms that are prevalent in Juvenile diabetes are the same as those of Type 1 diabetes.

To know about juvenile diabetes, we need to understand what diabetes is.

JUVENILE DIABETES: A LIFELONG PARTNER

Juvenile diabetes or diabetes is a lifelong partner.

So, learn to live with diabetes!

Juvenile diabetes: how does it occur?

Diabetes occurs when the ‘pancreas, is disabled. The pancreas is the organ within the abdomen that not only creates insulin but also determines the place (within the human body) to store glucose or sugar.

JUVENILE DIABETES VERSUS INSULIN

Insulin is a particular hormone that transforms certain portion of the food that we consume into sugar or glucose.

JUVENILE DIABETES: WHY IS SUGAR OR GLUCOSE NEEDED?

The human body needs glucose or sugar to generate the required heat for performing metabolism – one of the most important biological processes. Insulin is the agent performing this significant biological mechanism.

JUVENILE DIABETES: HARD FACTS

Here are the hard facts about juvenile diabetes or Type 1 diabetes:

* The majority of the patients suffering from juvenile diabetes have a family history of this ailment.
* Juvenile diabetes occurs in patients who earlier suffered from gestational diabetes.
* The majority of the patients suffering from Juvenile diabetes are obese.
* Juvenile diabetics can happen at any age.
* Juvenile diabetes is a silent invader.
* By the time, the patient seeks medical advice juvenile diabetes takes deep roots within the body.
* However, juvenile diabetes can be cured if it is diagnosed at the initial stage. Hence, we should go for regular medical check-ups, especially of the blood sugar. Such examinations are needed at least twice a year.
* Nowadays, even children have been found to be suffering from juvenile diabetes or the type 1 diabetes syndrome.
* When juvenile diabetes is left undiagnosed, it may lead to the advanced form of diabetes which is known as type 2 diabetes patients. The majority of the patients blissfully that they are from suffering juvenile diabetics come face to face with this grim fact only in their middle ages or in their 45 plus stage. More than 80 per cent of the type juvenile diabetes patients are overweight.
* Approximately 90-96% of the diabetics suffer from juvenile diabetes.
* Juvenile diabetes sets in owing to the modern lifestyle marked by a sedentary jobs, lack of exercise, consumption of fast food, and above all tension.
* A drastic and deliberate change in those factors coupled with the regular medical check-ups can keep juvenile diabetes at bay.

Diabetes is a silent killer. Diabetes or what is medically known as diabetes mellitus happens due to the modern lifestyle. Some of the prominent causes of diabetes are lack of exercise, consumption of adulterated and unhygienic food, junk or fast food.

The most important thing about our bodies is that it is a well-oiled machine with in-built mechanism to combat all the types of attackers (read germs).

But, we ourselves are to blame if we disable the mechanism that activates the anti-germ army.

And, we ourselves are to blame if we stop the very process (metabolism) that gives birth and training to the sentinels (read enzymes, white blood corpuscles, sugar or insulin among others).

Then, what is metabolism?

DIABETES LINKED TO METABOLISM…

Metabolism breaks up the food into proteins, fats, and vitamins, and of course the waste products besides water that we eliminate as urine, sweat or stool.

Metabolism needs heat generated by the hormone insulin that is produced by the pancreas.

When pancreas fails to function diabetes strikes; metabolism fails; and the other important organs like the kidneys and the heart also fail to work properly.

The typical symptoms of diabetes are:

Frequent urination

Irritation at various portions of the body

Dry mouth

Breathlessness

And General weakness.

These symptoms can lead to loss of eyesight, pressure problems and even heart ailments.

These symptoms do not occur in a day. They remain hidden. That is primarily the reason why many diabetics fail to know of the ailment creating havoc within their bodies.

And, by the time the person seeks medical advice, diabetes already takes deep roots and many organs fail to function.

To know of the typical symptoms associated with diabetes, it is important to know what exactly diabetes is.

DIABETES DECLARED ‘EPIDEMIC’ IN AMERICA

The number of diabetics is increasing at an alarming rate across the globe. Citizens of most of the developed countries as well as the developing countries are vulnerable to this ailment commonly termed as a rich man’s disease.

The reason for this nomenclature is that diabetes is caused due to the wrong eating habits or even over-eating — habits that are identified with people having money.

In other words, people who do not eat as much rarely suffers from diabetes while they suffer from the diseases associated with malnutrition.

Annually, hundreds of Americans are falling prey to diabetics. Already, there are more than 23 million diabetics in USA alone. Moreover, this disease known clinically as ‘diabetes mellitus‘ is spreading so fast across the country that the American health department has termed it as an ‘epidemic’.
